![]() I'm 37 and in ok shape, so I figure that, given that I think I started functioning as a useful, fully conscious human being at about 17, and that my family tends to be fairly long-lived (my granddad just died of an infection at very good health at 96, and there have been a few near-centegenarians), I've got about twice my "real life" left to go before I start hitting a real probability of pushing off from old age. There's just too much out there to kick the bucket without a fight. I want to die on my own terms, when I've decided, "fuck it, that's it, I've done/seen it all." I want to spacewalk, visit Mars, use a teleporter, see all the beautiful things there are in the universe, listen to every piece of good music until I'm sick of it, try every good food, fuck every beautiful woman, and smell every flower. I quit smoking, started exercising, and watching what I eat, and if there is even the slightest 0.000000001% chance in hell that some quackery like cryogenics will bring me back once people are immortal, hell yes. Dying most certainly is.Īnd I hate this tired bromide. >!insert spoiler here!< Other subreddits you might like: some Mod posts Serious posts Megathread Breaking news Unfilter Please use spoiler tags to hide spoilers.
